Flint Technical Geosolutions was awarded the IFAI Award of Excellence for Coastal Protection for its work on the Ocean Isle Beach Revetment in North Carolina — demonstrating how TITANBag® geotextile sandbags provide durable, aesthetically appropriate coastal protection for private property owners in high-erosion environments.
The Project
The revetment was designed to protect a residential property from erosion driven by storm wave action, longshore sediment transport, and sea level rise. TITANBags® — large, sand-colored, UV-resistant geotextile sandbags with self-sealing fill ports — were installed to blend with the beach environment while providing structural defense against coastal forces.
A Pattern of Coastal Excellence
The Ocean Isle award is one of several coastal recognitions FTG has earned. Ft. Pierce City Marina earned an IFAI Award of Excellence and a COPRI Project Excellence Award. Eustatia Island won a COPRI Small Project Excellence Award. West Ship Island won the IFAI Award of Excellence.
