What Our Clients Say

“

“During the installation, FTG offered innovative solutions for necessary field adjustments such as providing technical assistance in estimating the shape of the final cross-sections, determining approximate sand volume needs of individual project sections, recommending the approximate length of sections which could reasonably be filled each day, providing conceptual drawings, figuring appropriate fill port spacing and visiting the jobsite to investigate and address site-specific conditions.”

FTG's Environmental Approach to Coastal Protection

FTG’s coastal approach: protect the shoreline while keeping it intact. Often, FTG coastal systems use beneficially dredged material as fill — providing an alternative material source that puts dredged material to productive use for marsh restoration, beach renourishment or construction of bird habitat islands.

Standard coastal construction mines sand from beaches, river systems, or offshore deposits — increasingly restricted, increasingly destructive. FTG’s approach uses beneficially dredged material: solving the dredge project’s disposal problem while building the coastal structure. TITAN Boom™ (patent pending) provides seafloor-sealing turbidity control during dredging near sensitive benthic habitat — closing the bottom gap that standard silt curtains leave open to seagrass, oyster beds, and coral.

Coastal Geotextile Applications

Hurricane and Storm Protection

TITANTube® geotextile tubes filled with beneficially dredged material form the structural perimeter and interior groins of protective islands and revetments. At Ft. Pierce, 94 TITANTubes® up to 45′ circumference were deployed over one year to form Tern Island’s structural core — holding 100,000+ cubic yards of dredged sand against tidal currents reaching 4.5 knots. Strict manatee watching and turbidity controls maintained throughout in the protected Indian River Lagoon ecosystem. IFAI Award of Excellence. COPRI Project Excellence Award.

Coastal Marsh Restoration and Habitat Island Creation

TITANTube® containment structures create confined disposal facilities above the waterline, allowing dredged material to consolidate into marsh substrate. FTG’s field services team completes restoration with salt-tolerant planting. Bird Island Cove: 114 acres protected, 70 acres of estuarine marsh restored.

Coastal Revetment and Shoreline Erosion Control

TITANBag® geotextile bags provide low-profile, flexible coastal armor for revetments, dune toe protection, and shoreline stabilization — filled in place, sand-colored, UV resistant. Ocean Isle Beach Revetment, North Carolina: IFAI Award of Excellence (2017).

Land Reclamation and Port Development

TITANTube® containment structures for land reclamation from dredged fill — used by port authorities and coastal development agencies where conventional reclamation is too costly or environmentally restricted.
